NATALIE BRCAR

Director

With a deep passion for understanding how people inhabit, adapt, and personalise the spaces they call home, Natalie brings over 20 years of expertise in high-quality residential architecture and interior design. Her career has been defined by a commitment to excellence, having worked on numerous award-winning projects both during her tenure at esteemed architectural practices Tzannes Associates and MCK Architects and as a founder of Brcar Morony Architecture.

Natalie is actively involved in all phases of a project, from the early conceptual and schematic design stages through to detailed documentation, site administration, and construction delivery. Her collaborative approach ensures that client aspirations are translated into thoughtful, functional, and inspiring spatial solutions. She works closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve spatial and programmatic requirements while maintaining tight control over project timelines and budgets. Her design sensibility is driven by a nuanced exploration of spatial volume, materiality, and natural light, with a focus on delivering work that is both technically resolved and beautifully crafted.

She brings a highly developed knowledge of construction detailing and material application, underpinned by long-standing relationships with specialist trades, fabricators, and suppliers. Natalie’s extensive understanding of custom joinery, furniture, fittings, and soft furnishings enables her to deliver a comprehensive and cohesive design service—from architecture through to the final layer of interior styling.

In addition to her professional practice, Natalie is dedicated to shaping the future of the profession. She contributes to architectural education by tutoring Professional Practice at the University of Sydney, where she mentors students of architecture and shares her practical experience.

Natalie also serves as an Assessor with the NSW Architects Registration Board, where she plays a key role in evaluating candidates seeking architectural registration. Through rigorous face-to-face interviews, she assesses applicants' readiness for registration by ensuring they demonstrate the requisite knowledge, competence, and professional standards to practice as registered architects in New South Wales.
